Nestlé USA has announced plans to expand its operations in Cherokee County, South Carolina, with a significant investment of $150 million. This expansion will enhance the company's Gaffney production facility, which has been operational since 1980.
The investment will introduce a new line for single-serve frozen meals and improve automation and digital technology at the facility located at 2132 Old Georgia Highway in Gaffney. Nestlé USA's portfolio includes brands such as Stouffer’s, Nestlé Toll House, and Coffee-mate.
"This investment further solidifies our dedication to the Gaffney community, where Nestlé has been an integral part for nearly 45 years," said Nicole Caldwell, Nestlé USA Gaffney Factory Manager. "It also reflects our continued commitment to enhance our U.S. manufacturing footprint and in-house capabilities."
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster praised the move: "South Carolina's strong economy and talented workforce make our state an ideal place for major companies like Nestlé USA to expand."
Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III expressed pride in the long-standing partnership with Nestlé USA: "This $150 million investment is a major victory for Cherokee County."
Harvey S. Peeler Jr., Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, acknowledged Nestlé's positive impact on Cherokee County over four decades.
Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers highlighted the importance of agribusiness: "This expansion is great news for the state."
Cherokee County Council Chairman Tim Spencer added that this decision underscores the area's business-friendly environment and strong community potential.
Nestlé USA operates 112 offices and facilities across 28 states.
