On the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attack on Israel, U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham, Joni Ernst, and 47 other Senate Republicans have issued a statement condemning Hamas for its actions and reaffirming support for Israel. The senators denounce violent antisemitic protests and emphasize Israel's right to self-defense.

"The vicious and barbaric October 7 attack against innocent men, women and children by the terrorist organization, Hamas – backed by Iran – will be remembered forever by all decent human beings," said Senator Lindsey Graham.

Senator Joni Ernst recalled waking up in the Middle East to news of the attack. "I immediately traveled into Israel to show that our nation’s friendship is unwavering," she stated.

The Senate Republican Conference expressed their united stance against Hamas' actions. "The United States stands with Israel...as it defends itself against terrorist entities," remarked Senate Republican Whip John Thune.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Jim Risch emphasized ongoing threats from Iran-backed groups like Hezbollah and Houthis towards Israel. He stated that "the United States can and should continue to do all it can to support our ally."

Senator Ted Budd highlighted the impact on American citizens: "More than 40 were murdered by Hamas, and dozens were taken hostage."

Other senators echoed these sentiments, stressing the need for continued support for Israel in light of persistent threats from Iran-backed entities. They called for international solidarity with Israel as it combats terrorism in the region.
