Lines spilled out into the entryway of Lander University’s Grier Student Center on Monday, Sept. 19, as students tried to be among the first to get a taste of a new dining option on campus.
After a brief delay earlier this semester due to supply chain shortages, Lander Dining Services opened the doors to Freshëns Fresh Food Kitchen. The company bills itself as a “fresh casual” restaurant on its website, and menu items include flatbreads, wraps, salad bowls and smoothies.
Freshëns joins other popular brands on Lander’s campus, including Chick-fil-A, Which-Wich, and a full-size Starbucks coffee shop.
The new location has received positive feedback from the campus community during its first full week of operation, according to Mathew Lugo, director of Dining Services at Lander. “It’s evident we have provided a dining solution resonating with all members of our Lander community,” he said. “We are ecstatic to finally open the doors after a long awaited summer project.”
