South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has joined a coalition of 26 states to support the recently formed Second Amendment Enforcement Task Force. This coalition of attorneys general has sent a formal letter to U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi, commending the Trump Administration and Attorney General Bondi for establishing the task force aimed at protecting Second Amendment rights.

Led by West Virginia Attorney General John McCuskey, the coalition praised the initiative as an essential tool for ensuring Americans' constitutional right to keep and bear arms. The letter expressed a collective commitment to collaborate with the U.S. Department of Justice by providing support in litigation, regulatory expertise, and law enforcement to sustain Second Amendment rights.

"The Biden administration spent four years trying to punish gun owners and dismantle Second Amendment protections," stated Attorney General Wilson. "This Task Force marks a major course correction. It shows that under President Trump, we’re back to defending the Constitution, not bypassing it."

Attorney General Wilson further emphasized South Carolina's readiness to contribute through court actions, policy reforms, or in collaboration with law enforcement. "My office is ready to assist however we can, whether that’s in court, with policy reform, or alongside law enforcement," he stated. "South Carolina will always defend our citizens’ right to bear arms, and we’re proud to stand with AG Bondi and President Trump in this fight."

The attorneys general also pointed to recent state-level efforts to protect firearm freedoms and address discrimination against the firearms industry.
