NorthMark Strategies, an investment firm with a multi-strategy focus, has chosen Spartanburg County, South Carolina, as the location for its first operation in the state. The firm announced its decision recently and committed to an investment of $2.8 billion. This project is anticipated to create a minimum of 27 new jobs and will employ regional businesses and suppliers for maintenance and operations support.

This facility will be NorthMark's fifth operation in the United States and will be located at 4000 South Pine Street, Spartanburg. It will serve as a high-performance computing center aimed at supporting a portfolio of businesses in the engineering and technology sectors. Designed for sustainability, the facility will generate its own power, minimizing grid impact.

The Spartanburg operation is expected to begin initial operations in the third quarter of 2026. Interested candidates can explore career opportunities on NorthMark's careers page.

"Of the more than 100 locations across the country we considered, Spartanburg stood out for its strong community, skilled workforce, dynamic economy, and strategic advantages," said NorthMark Strategies President Jen Byrne. According to her, the investment solidifies the firm's commitment to future growth and meeting the increasing demand for high-performance computing capabilities.

Governor Henry McMaster commented, "NorthMark Strategies’ $2.8 billion investment is a milestone moment for Spartanburg County, and a clear reflection of the confidence companies have in our state. This project further positions South Carolina as a national leader in technology and innovation."

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III expressed support, stating, "We celebrate this remarkable investment in the Upstate and all it will mean for our state and our people."

Echoing appreciation, Spartanburg County Council Vice Chairman and Economic Development Committee Chairman David Britt said, "We are thrilled to welcome NorthMark Strategies to Spartanburg and look forward to the opportunities this project will bring to our community."
