The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will close and detour a portion of Townsend Road in Greenwood County starting March 31, 2025, to replace the bridge over Townsend Creek. The new bridge is expected to be completed and reopened to traffic in Fall 2025.

A detour route has been established, and Townsend Road will remain open to local traffic except at the bridge closure site. A detailed map of the closure and detour is available through SCDOT.

Motorists are urged to slow down and stay alert while driving near the work zone. For updates and additional information, visit scdot.org.
