U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham introduced Scott Bessent, President Donald Trump's nominee for Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, at a Senate Finance Committee hearing in Washington. Bessent, a native of South Carolina and founder and CEO of Key Square Group, has over 35 years of experience in investment management.

Graham expressed strong support for Bessent's nomination, highlighting his qualifications. "I’m here today to tell you if you use qualifications as your test, this is the easiest vote you’ll ever take," said Graham.

The senator emphasized the need for a knowledgeable and trusted Treasury Secretary. "We need a Secretary of Treasury that knows what he’s doing, has the trust of the president and loves his country. Your ship came in with [Scott Bessent]."

Graham also shared personal anecdotes about Bessent's background, noting his early recognition for success during high school. "He went to North Myrtle Beach High School, and he was voted Most Likely To Succeed… What did they see in him? The same thing I see. Someone who really is talented, works hard and is just a good person."

In closing remarks, Graham expressed gratitude to President Trump for selecting Bessent: "He deserves this job. He’s qualified for this job. President Trump, thank you for picking him. On behalf of all of us in South Carolina, we’re extremely proud of you, and we wish you well."
