Luck Companies, a provider of crushed stone aggregates and environmental performance products, has announced plans to expand its quarry operations across South Carolina. The expansion involves developing new sites in Chester, Edgefield, Saluda, and Spartanburg counties while expanding existing sites in Fairfield and Kershaw counties. This initiative represents a combined investment of $450 million and is expected to create 70 new jobs.

Founded in 1923 and headquartered in Virginia, Luck Companies operates through three business units: Luck Stone, Luck Ecosystems, and Luck Real Estate Ventures. The company partners with customers in the construction, civil engineering, and environmental industries.

The expansion includes a $93 million investment for a new site in Chester County that will create 25 jobs. This site will also feature areas dedicated to agricultural education and economic development. In Edgefield County, a $70 million investment over 20 years will develop a 434-acre quarry site creating 10 jobs. Similarly, Saluda County will see a $40 million investment over the next decade for a 330-acre quarry site that will also generate 10 jobs.

In Spartanburg County's Enoree area, Luck Companies plans to invest $132 million over two decades for commercial development alongside the quarry operation which will create approximately 25 jobs. Additionally, an investment of around $90 million is planned for the Fairfield County site along Highway 34 near Ridgeway to support growing demand on the Interstate 77 corridor.

Acquired in 2018, the Kershaw County site west of Highway 601 produces materials supporting road building and coastal protection. An additional $25 million investment will establish a permanent plant at this location.
