Gov. Henry McMaster, along with Lt. Gov. Pamela S. Evette and First Lady Peggy McMaster, has released their schedule for the week of October 7, 2024. On Monday, October 7 at 2:30 PM, Governor McMaster held a media briefing with state emergency management officials to update the public on South Carolina's response to Hurricane Helene at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center in West Columbia.

Due to the State of Emergency in place, media members will be notified of public events as they are scheduled.

The previous week's schedule for Governor McMaster included various calls and meetings related to Hurricane Helene recovery efforts and interactions with local officials and members of the government. Notably, he participated in several executive conference calls with state emergency management officials throughout the week.

On September 30, he had multiple calls with local officials and held a media briefing regarding hurricane recovery efforts. The following days involved more discussions with federal agency representatives such as Secretary Pete Buttigieg from the U.S. Department of Transportation and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell.

Governor McMaster also met President Joe Biden during a briefing about hurricane recovery efforts on October 2 at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport.

His engagements continued through October 3-6, involving meetings with business leaders like John Furner from Walmart U.S., visits to affected areas such as Edgefield County, and speaking at a Republican Governors Association event on Kiawah Island.
