Gov. Henry McMaster, Lt. Gov. Pamela S. Evette, and First Lady Peggy McMaster have outlined their activities for the week starting October 14, 2024.
On Tuesday, October 15, Lt. Gov. Evette is scheduled to attend Team South Carolina County Day for Union, Newberry, and Laurens Counties at Piedmont Technical College in Clinton, S.C., at 10:00 AM. Later that day at 2:00 PM, Gov. McMaster will lead a State Fiscal Accountability Authority meeting in Columbia.
Lt. Gov. Evette's schedule continues on Thursday, October 17 with an appearance at Team South Carolina County Day for Barnwell, Bamberg, and Allendale Counties at USC Salkehatchie in Allendale at 11:00 AM.
The week concludes with Lt. Gov. Evette attending another Team South Carolina County Day on Friday, October 18 for Aiken, Saluda, and Edgefield Counties at USC Aiken Convocation Center in Graniteville at 12:30 PM.
Looking back to the previous week of October 7th:
Gov. McMaster's agenda was filled with meetings and calls related to Hurricane Helene recovery efforts and other official duties. On Monday he conducted a conference call with emergency management officials followed by a meeting with a congressional delegation member and a media briefing about Hurricane Helene’s impact.
Tuesday included hosting a luncheon with First Lady Peggy McMaster alongside the University of South Carolina at the Governor’s Mansion followed by further hurricane recovery discussions and speaking engagement at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association meeting.
Wednesday saw more federal agency meetings and state calls focused on disaster recovery operations throughout the day into the evening.
On Thursday Gov. McMaster held office hours in Columbia's State House before participating in multiple policy meetings concluding with an evening call to a local official.
Friday began with an economic development meeting followed by a conversation with President Joe Biden before ending his day as keynote speaker at The Citadel Republican Society Dinner in Charleston.
