Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette is set to visit Point of Distribution (POD) sites in Aiken and Edgefield counties on Friday, October 4, 2024. These PODs are crucial components of South Carolina's recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene, serving as centralized locations for residents to obtain food, water, and other essential emergency supplies.
The visit will commence at the Aiken County POD located at 495 Brookside Avenue, North Augusta, South Carolina. Lt. Gov. Evette will be accompanied by state and local officials during this visit scheduled for 10:00 AM.
Later in the day, at 1:00 PM, Lt. Gov. Evette will proceed to the Edgefield County POD situated at 402 Main Street, Edgefield, South Carolina. State and local officials will also join her for this part of the visit.
These visits highlight ongoing efforts to support communities affected by natural disasters through coordinated distribution of necessary resources.
