FAYAT Group, a road equipment producer, is set to expand its operations in Fairfield County, South Carolina, by investing $13.7 million. This initiative is expected to generate 75 new jobs. Established in France in 1957, FAYAT operates globally in 170 countries with more than 23,000 employees. The company focuses on producing and assembling equipment for road lifecycle stages, including asphalt production, maintenance, compaction, and recycling, alongside airport vehicles.

The expansion will take place at 321 Blue Granite Parkway in Ridgeway, where FAYAT plans to build a 100,000-square-foot parts distribution facility. This facility aims to enhance aftersales support for North American customers. Additionally, FAYAT will increase local production of road machinery at an existing Fairfield County site. The new operations are projected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025. Prospective employees are advised to contact Michelle Tobin for opportunities.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits for this project. Rob Mueckler, General Manager of FAYAT's Road Equipment Division, noted the strategic benefits of FAYAT's location in Fairfield County, citing the proximity to ports and an air hub as vital factors. Mueckler emphasized the company's intention to better serve its customers through this investment.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster highlighted the state's role in providing resources for business success, commending the creation of 75 new jobs in Fairfield County. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III praised the company's commitment to the state. Fairfield County Council Chairman Clarence Gilbert expressed enthusiasm over the reinforced partnership with FAYAT.

Matthew Shaffer, Chairman of the Central SC Alliance, also applauded FAYAT Group's growth, recognizing the company's significant contribution to regional economic development and the necessity of expansion due to its thriving operations in the area.
