At a recent Senate Banking Committee hearing, Chairman Tim Scott called for swift consideration of nominees for the Trump administration and federal financial regulators. Highlighting their qualifications, Scott emphasized the nominees' potential impact on American families and the economy.

"We are here today to consider a strong slate of nominees put forward by President Trump to serve in key leadership positions across the federal government," Scott stated. He emphasized the importance of these roles, which include positions within housing, finance, and commerce sectors, to deliver results that matter to Americans.

Nominees discussed include Andrew Hughes for Deputy Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, David Woll for General Counsel at HUD, Michelle Bowman as Vice Chairman for Supervision at the Federal Reserve, John Hurley for Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Crimes at the Department of the Treasury, David Fogel as Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, and Landon Heid as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration.

Scott praised each nominee, citing their experience and readiness to serve in these impactful roles. He recognized the daily influence these positions have on economic aspects such as housing affordability and global competitiveness.

"I look forward to hearing from each of the nominees today, and I encourage my colleagues to join me in advancing their confirmations so they can get to work on behalf of the American people," Scott concluded.

Additionally, Scott expressed gratitude towards the outgoing Chief Clerk, Cameron Ricker, acknowledging his non-partisan service to the committee.
