Senator Tim Scott marks historic ten-week voting streak in U.S. Senate

The Senate has concluded a historic commencement of the 119th Congress, marking ten consecutive weeks of voting. This represents the longest continuous stretch in more than 15 years. U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) highlighted this period as productive and intense, with Senate Republicans working to advance President Trump's agenda.

"This work period has been dynamic, exciting, and extremely productive. I have loved seeing so many South Carolinians in DC over the last three months," said Senator Scott. "Senate Republicans have taken monumental steps in getting President Trump the cabinet he deserves, passing critical legislation and rolling back burdensome regulations."

Since January, Senator Scott introduced several pieces of legislation including the Alan T. Shao II Fentanyl Public Health Emergency and Overdose Prevention Act, Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2025, Protect Small Businesses from Excessive Paperwork Act of 2025, Securing our Border Act, Unlocking Domestic LNG Potential Act, and Families’ Rights and Responsibilities Act.

President Trump has nominated individuals for various critical positions within his administration. Senator Scott has met with and voted to confirm nominees for Cabinet-level positions such as Treasury, Health and Human Services, Defense, Homeland Security, Education, Labor, Housing and Urban Development; SBA Administrator; and Directors of FBI, USTR National Intelligence; and National Institutes of Health.

Senator Scott also emphasized education during National School Choice Week by highlighting educational opportunities' impact on students' lives. As co-chair of the Congressional School Choice Caucus and a member of the Senate HELP Committee, he introduced a resolution recognizing January 26 – February 1 as National School Choice Week.

In response to Hurricane Helene's aftermath affecting South Carolina businesses, Senator Scott introduced the SBA Disaster Transparency Act to make reporting requirements for Disaster Loan Accounts public. The bill advanced out of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee during this work period.

Additionally focusing on economic freedom advancements like pro-growth tax policies that prevent a $5 trillion tax hike on middle-class Americans through extending Tax Cuts Acts is another priority area for him.
