South Carolina's upcoming back-to-school sales tax holiday offers an opportunity for residents to support local businesses, according to NFIB State Director Ben Homeyer. The tax holiday, which includes items such as computers, printers, school supplies, clothing and accessories, shoes, and certain bed and bath items, will take place from August 4-6.
"South Carolina’s sales tax holiday was created to provide a little financial relief for families and individuals, but it’s also good for Main Street businesses," said Homeyer.
He emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses during this period. "When you support small businesses, you help the local economy," Homeyer stated. "Small businesses create jobs and support our schools and community groups. Shopping small is a great way to support the businesses that support the community throughout the year."
