U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina expressed approval following the Senate's passage of legislation that includes $110 billion in disaster relief for areas impacted by droughts and Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The bill, which also funds the government, was passed on Thursday.

Senator Graham collaborated with Senators Thom Tillis and Ted Budd, both from North Carolina, to encourage Congress to approve the disaster relief package before year's end.

Graham stated, "I am extremely pleased that the Senate overwhelmingly supported disaster relief for hard-hit South Carolinians and many others. My top priority was to ensure the much-needed disaster relief package was not delayed any further."

He noted that while a debt limit deal was not part of this package, he would have supported such an effort. Graham added, "This bill funds the government, provides urgently needed disaster aid, helps our farmers, and will give some hope and relief to those who have lost so much."
