Milo’s Tea Company has announced an expansion of its operations in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The company is investing $53 million, which is expected to create 80 new jobs in the area. Milo's Tea, a family-owned business based in Alabama, specializes in brewing high-quality tea and lemonade.

The expansion involves adding a production line and making enhancements to the existing facility located at 6684 U.S. Highway 221 in Moore. Operations are set to begin this month, with those interested in employment opportunities encouraged to visit the company's careers page.

Tricia Wallwork, Chair and CEO of Milo’s Tea Company, stated that "Milo’s is a people-first company," emphasizing the importance of the local workforce and regional support as key factors for their decision to expand in Spartanburg County.

Governor Henry McMaster commented on the expansion by noting it as a sign of confidence in South Carolina's workforce and its impact on strengthening the local economy. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III praised Milo's Tea for its investment and expressed optimism about future collaborations.

David Britt, Vice Chairman of Spartanburg County Council and Economic Development Committee Chairman, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion occurring even before the facility was fully operational. He also commended Tricia Wallwork for her leadership.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to this project and awarded a $250,000 Set-Aside grant to assist with construction costs.
