Senator Scott Accepting Applications for Summer 2024 Internships

U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has announced that he is now accepting applications for internships in his offices for the summer of 2024. The internship program provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in constituent services, government policy, and more.

Students of all majors are welcome to apply, but those studying governmental affairs, public policy, or communications are particularly encouraged. The internship positions are available in Senator Scott's offices in Washington, D.C., North Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville.

In the Washington, D.C. office, interns will have a variety of responsibilities including researching legislation, attending congressional hearings and briefings, assisting with press tasks, and managing correspondence on various issues. They will also be responsible for answering phones and other administrative tasks. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain a stronger understanding of the lawmaking process and improve their communication and customer service skills.

In the state offices located in North Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville, interns will be actively involved in the community and work on state-based projects. They will also be responsible for answering phones, conducting research, and assisting with day-to-day office operations. Interns in these offices will have the chance to address issues that directly impact the people of South Carolina.

The internship hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules and generally run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additionally, students may be able to receive course credit for completing the internship program.
