Allegiance Flag Supply will spend $1.2 million to expand its operations in Charleston County.
Allegiance Flag Supply, located at 4213 Scott St. in North Charleston, said in a release from Gov. Henry McMaster's office, that the expansion is underway and will create 25 new jobs.
The company uses American-sourced materials and local seamstresses to produce high-quality flags that can withstand outside elements.
"Every stitch, every hem, and every thread in our American flags are proudly made right here in Charleston,” Allegiance Flag Supply Co-Founder Katie Lyon said in the release.
Allegiance Flag Supply’s expansion will allow the company to consolidate its operations and include a self-sustainable sew shop and distribution center.
From there, packages and products can be shipped across the country.
“Team South Carolina is proud to see home-grown companies expand," McMaster said in the release. "Congratulations to Allegiance Flag Supply on this announcement, and we look forward to their success for many years to come.”
Added Charleston County Council Chairman Teddie Pryor: “Allegiance Flag Supply’s expansion is to be commended. Allegiance Flag Supply has confidence in our community to consolidate their operations and create local manufacturing jobs for our citizens. We stand by their efforts and look forward to a continued relationship.”
