South Carolina Oak to Barrel has announced plans to set up operations in Bamberg County and its more than $6.8 million investment is paving the way for roughly 122 new jobs.

The manufacturer of wooden barrels for high-quality whiskey and wine is slated to set up shop at 3914 Main Highway in Bamberg.

“South Carolina Oak to Barrel, LLC is honored to bring our operations to Bamberg,” CEO Dagney Johnson said in a press release from Gov. Henty McMaster's office. “Our woman-owned business produces the highest-quality whiskey and wine barrels in the region and beyond.”

Johnson largely traces the creation of the opportunity to work and vision of McMaster, who said it represents an ongoing mission for the state.

“Today’s announcement is a huge win for South Carolina,” McMaster said in the release. “We celebrate South Carolina Oak to Barrel, LLC’s decision to locate in Bamberg County, invest more than $6.8 million and create 122 new jobs.

“By continuing to provide a business-friendly environment, we can help bring in more job-creating investments like this one to the Palmetto State.”

The new facility is slated to be open by the end of the year. To applying for openings call 803-676-4240 or email info@southcarolinaoaktobarrel.com.
