A pitcher from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign turned Atlanta Braves 2021 Major League Baseball draft pick and prospect earned both his first pro win and Low-A East Pitcher of the Week honors for the Augusta GreenJackets.
Right-hander Andrew Hoffmann threw five innings without a hit and struck out seven to earn his first professional win in a Sept. 9 contest against the Columbia Fireflies (Kansas City Royals), according to a GreenJackets press release.
Hoffmann is been with the GreenJackets since Aug. 3. Through six starts, Hoffmann has a 3.57 ERA, and 29 strikeouts to only eight walks.
