McLeod Health issued the following announcement on August 6.
McLeod Health welcomes Roopak Sekhon, MD, and James C. Johnson, DO, to the medical staff.
Dr. Sekhon joins the Department of Inpatient Medicine at McLeod Loris Seacoast as a Hospitalist. He comes to McLeod following the completion of his Internal Medicine residency training at New Hanover Regional Medical Center-UNC Wilmington, where he served as Chief Resident and was voted Outstanding First Year Resident in Internal Medicine. Dr. Sekhon received his medical degree from Xavier University School of Medicine in Oranestad, Aruba in 2018. A native of Long Island, New York, he is an avid sports fan, particularly of football, and loves to travel both within the United States and worldwide. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Sekhon to our McLeod Health community.
Dr. Johnson joins the Department of Inpatient Medicine at McLeod Health Clarendon as a Hospitalist. A familiar face around McLeod Health, he is a 2021 graduate of the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program where he served as Chief Resident and as a member of the Physicians Advisory Council and Quality Operation Committee. Dr. Johnson attended Radford College in Virginia for his undergraduate degree, and received his medical degree from the University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018.
