The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has announced the closure and detour of sections of I-26 East and College Park Road in Charleston County. This action is necessary for nighttime bridge repairs following damage to the College Park bridge caused by a crash on February 6.

The repair work is scheduled for the nights of Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23. It will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude at 9 a.m. each night.

During this period, the left lanes of I-26 Eastbound will be closed leading up to Exit 203. Drivers will need to take Exit 203 to re-enter I-26 Eastbound. Additionally, the Northbound lanes of College Park Road and the College Park Road bridge itself will be closed.

A detour route will be established as part of these closures. SCDOT advises drivers to follow detour signs or seek alternate routes and anticipate delays.
