Kiawah Island home prices fall in 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in 2019 in Kiawah Island fell by $235,000 while total sales increased by 21.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2019, there were 189 homes sold, with a median sale price of $640,000 - a 26.9% decrease over the $875,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 155 homes sold in Kiawah Island in 2018.

The median sales tax in Kiawah Island for 2019 was $9,591. In 2018, the median sales tax was $9,092. This marks an increase of 5.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 1.5%.
