Summerville home prices rise in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in Summerville rose by $14,500 while total sales increased by 78.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 59 homes sold, with a median sale price of $224,000 - a 6.9% increase over the $209,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 33 homes sold in Summerville in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Summerville for 2019 was $952. In 2018, the median sales tax was $936. This marks an increase of 1.7%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 0.4%.
