North Charleston home prices rise in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in North Charleston rose by $22,750 while total sales increased by 28%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 663 homes sold, with a median sale price of $163,000 - a 16.2% increase over the $140,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 518 homes sold in North Charleston in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in North Charleston for 2019 was $821. In 2018, the median sales tax was $826. This marks an decrease of 0.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 0.5%.
