James Island home prices rise in the first half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2017 in James Island rose by $25,500 while total sales decreased by 19%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2017, there were 128 homes sold, with a median sale price of $278,000 - a 10.1% increase over the $252,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 158 homes sold in James Island in the first half of 2016.

The median sales tax in James Island for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,253, approximately 0.5% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2017.
