Charleston home prices rise in the second quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2017 in Charleston rose by $26,750 while total sales decreased by 23.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2017, there were 768 homes sold, with a median sale price of $290,000 - a 10.2% increase over the $263,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 1,008 homes sold in Charleston in the second quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Charleston for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,430, approximately 0.5% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2017.
