Charleston home prices rise in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in Charleston rose by $16,400 while total sales increased by 19.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were 190 homes sold, with a median sale price of $283,400 - a 6.1% increase over the $267,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 159 homes sold in Charleston in January 2016.

The median sales tax in Charleston for the most recent year with available data, 2015, was $1,430, approximately 0.5% of the median home sale price for January 2017.
