Coastal Carolina women’s tennis players Diana Zuba and Brunelle Kouam received All-Sun Belt recognition in the postseason awards, according to an April 29 announcement by the league.

The recognition highlights individual achievements during the 2026 season. Such honors are significant for student-athletes as they reflect both personal performance and contributions to their team’s success within conference play.

Diana Zuba was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year, making her only the fourth player in Coastal Carolina history to receive this award. She was also selected for the All-Conference Second Team. Zuba posted a 13-4 singles record while competing primarily at No. 1 and No. 2 positions, including a seven-match win streak from February 7 to March 4. She secured two Sun Belt regular-season victories with straight-set wins over Polina Gumeniuk of Marshall and Lilly Cvanciger of Arkansas State. In doubles, Zuba partnered with Sarah Clark to achieve an 8-1 record, earning Sun Belt Doubles Team of the Week honors on April 8 after helping clinch key matches against Charleston Southern, Presbyterian, and App State.

Brunelle Kouam earned All-Conference Second Team honors as well. The sophomore recorded a 10-4 singles mark at the top lineup spot and went undefeated (3-0) in Sun Belt regular-season matches with straight-set wins over opponents from Marshall, App State, and Georgia Southern. Kouam had a five-match win streak between February 24 and March 15 and clinched Coastal’s sweep victory over Charleston Southern.

The Sun Belt Conference also announced other annual awards including Player of the Year (Savannah Dada-Mascoll), Freshman of the Year (Polina Gumeniuk), Player to Watch (Meghna Arun Kumar), Coach of the Year (Dominic Manilla), and Elite Award Winner (Victoria Matasova). First team all-conference singles selections included players from App State, Georgia Southern, Louisiana, Marshall, Old Dominion, and Troy; second team honorees featured both Zuba and Kouam among others.
