Xoted Biotechnology Labs has announced plans to establish operations in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The initiative involves a $4.2 million investment and is expected to create 34 new jobs. Xoted, a subsidiary of DRC Ventures and TRB Holdings, focuses on sustainable biotechnology and scientific innovation.

The new facility will be located at the Spark Center in Duncan, S.C., and will specialize in plant-based detoxification, seed research, textiles, and cleanroom technology. It will also serve as a hub for STEM education and scientific research.

Dr. Christina Rahm, Founder and Chief Science Officer of DRC Ventures, stated that South Carolina shares their values of integrity and innovation: “It’s the ideal place to build a future-focused, clean manufacturing facility that puts science, sustainability and people first.”

Governor Henry McMaster expressed pride in welcoming Xoted Biotechnology Labs to the state: “With a $4.2 million investment and 34 new jobs, this announcement reflects the strength of our workforce.”

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III noted that innovative life sciences companies continue to see South Carolina as an ideal location for research and development operations.

David Britt from Spartanburg County Council highlighted the significance of Xoted’s contribution: “Biotechnology has been called the next frontier, and we are glad to partner with a company that is at the forefront of this space.”
