Winthrop University seniors Chloe Patterson, Gabby Pierpont, and Tori Iannotti were recognized in the 2026 Big South Conference All-Conference Awards, according to an April 30 announcement from the conference office. Patterson was named Scholar Athlete of the Year, Pierpont earned Second Team All-Conference honors, and Iannotti received an Honorable Mention.
These awards highlight the achievements of Winthrop athletes during the season and underscore their contributions both on and off the field.
Patterson is noted as the first Winthrop lacrosse athlete to earn Scholar Athlete of the Year recognition. She concluded her four-year career having played in 53 games. In her final season, she started in 13 out of 14 games, recording a personal best with 13 caused turnovers and collecting 20 ground balls.
Pierpont started all 16 games during her senior year. She helped lead Winthrop to its first three-game non-conference winning streak by scoring 13 goals and making six assists for a total of 19 points on 37 shots. She also won 48 draw controls while recording both defensive (12 caused turnovers) and ground ball (20) statistics.
Iannotti led Winthrop in goals and points this season with a total of 44 goals and eleven assists across sixteen starts. She placed seventy out of eighty-three shots on goal, converted nine free position opportunities, added eighteen draw controls, and collected fourteen ground balls over the course of her senior campaign.
The full list of award recipients includes athletes from Mercer University, High Point University, Wofford College, Presbyterian College, Gardner-Webb University, Furman University, Longwood University, Radford University as well as other teams within the conference.
