The South Carolina swimming and diving team recently signed University of New Mexico transfer Nicholle Toh, according to a press release by gamecocksonline.com.

Toh, who hails from Singapore, achieved All-Mountain West honors in the 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly and 400 freestyle relay for the Lobos as freshman.

“We’re very excited that Nicholle has decided to join us in January,” SC coach Jeff Poppell said in a statement. “She has the ability to immediately help us in the butterfly and sprint freestyle events as well as on relays.”

During her time at New Mexico, Toh also placed second in the 200 butterfly and fourth in the 100 butterfly at the 2019-20 Mountain West Championships. The Lobos did not compete in the 2020-21 season.

Toh swam for the Singapore National Team in international competition and has earned gold medals in the 100 butterfly at both the 2021 SNSC Invitational, and the 2021 SNAG Invitational events.

Toh is scheduled to join the Gamecocks’ swimming and diving program in January.
