U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina released a statement following his meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, who has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as Director of National Intelligence.

Scott expressed confidence in Gabbard, stating, “I have known Tulsi Gabbard for more than a decade. She is a person of high character who is dedicated to serving her country.” He described their conversation as “serious and productive,” focusing on global threats and strategies to enhance national security.

Senator Scott also emphasized the importance of allowing the President-elect to choose his Cabinet members, saying, “President Trump won a decisive victory and deserves the latitude to choose the Cabinet he feels will best serve the American people.” He urged the Senate to expedite its review process: “The Senate must do its job to vet and quickly consider these nominees so President Trump can have his full team in place as soon as possible.”
