South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of a Taylors man, Tollie Jack Roberts, IV, aged 65, on charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors. The arrest was made by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation was initiated after a CyberTipline report was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). According to investigators, Roberts is accused of distributing files containing child sexual abuse material.

Roberts was taken into custody on March 25, 2025. He faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405). Each charge is a felony and could result in up to ten years of imprisonment.

The Attorney General’s Office, also part of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation and will prosecute the case. Attorney General Wilson emphasized the presumption of innocence for all defendants unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Roberts has a history of similar charges, having been previously convicted in 2012.

The term “child sexual abuse material” (CSAM) is used here to more accurately describe these offenses. It aims to replace the term “child pornography,” which might incorrectly suggest participation by the child.
