South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of Michael Robert Walker, II, a 38-year-old resident of Summerville, South Carolina. Walker faces six charges related to the attempted sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest was carried out by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Mount Pleasant Police Department. The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, also part of the state’s ICAC task force, provided assistance in the investigation.

According to investigators, Walker solicited someone he believed to be a minor for sexual activity and sent sexually explicit images to an individual he thought was underage.

Walker was taken into custody on January 3, 2025. He is charged with four counts of criminal solicitation of a minor under section 16-15-342, each carrying a potential sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment. Additionally, he faces two counts of attempted dissemination of obscene material to a person under eighteen as per section 16-15-345, which are also punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment for each count.

The Attorney General’s Office will handle the prosecution of this case.

Attorney General Wilson emphasized that “all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
