South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of Terrell Lee Claggion, 23, from Summerville, South Carolina, on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The investigation and arrest were carried out by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Summerville Police Department. Additional support was provided by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, St. Francis Sheriff’s Office, Deslodge Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police.
According to investigators, Claggion is accused of soliciting a minor for sex, encouraging the production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and sending sexually explicit images to a minor. He was arrested on December 9, 2025.
Claggion faces three counts of criminal solicitation of a minor (§16-15-342), each carrying up to 10 years in prison if convicted; two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor (§16-15-395), each punishable by up to 20 years; and one count of dissemination of obscene material to a person under age twelve (§16-15-355), which carries up to 15 years imprisonment.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office. As South Carolina’s chief prosecutor and legal counsel, the Attorney General oversees criminal matters across the state and works closely with law enforcement agencies in prosecuting such cases. The office also provides victim support services and resources aimed at enhancing public safety statewide (official website).
Attorney General Wilson stated: “All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
The press release notes that CSAM is used as a more accurate term than “child pornography,” emphasizing that it better reflects the abusive nature of these crimes.
The South Carolina Attorney General’s office collaborates with local law enforcement agencies on criminal prosecutions and maintains statewide operations in both legal advocacy and regulatory enforcement (official website).
