At a nominations hearing before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, U.S. Senator Tim Scott emphasized the need to confirm President Trump's nominees. He stated that such confirmations would help roll back the Biden administration's regulations and lead to economic growth.

During his opening remarks, Senator Scott mentioned, "Today, we have an opportunity to take another step toward reigniting President Trump’s blue-collar comeback." He argued that confirming nominees Paul Atkins, Jonathan Gould, Luke Pettit, and Marcus Molinaro would be crucial in addressing issues impacting American families, citing concerns in housing affordability and national economic security.

Senator Scott pointed to what he described as the Biden administration's stifling of innovation through regulation, singling out the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under Chair Gary Gensler. He expressed support for Paul Atkins as the new nominee for the SEC, citing his previous experience as an SEC Commissioner. "Mr. Atkins is a former SEC Commissioner who has dedicated his career to ensuring that our capital markets remain the envy of the world," Scott stated.

Additionally, Scott voiced his support for Jonathan Gould as Comptroller of the Currency, commending his knowledge of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's mission. He said, "Mr. Gould, I hope you will end debanking and return the OCC to its true purpose."

Regarding Luke Pettit, nominated to be Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the Treasury, Scott shared that Pettit brings essential experience, adding, "Mr. Pettit understands the challenges facing American families and businesses."

Finally, Scott commented on Marcus Molinaro's nomination for Federal Transit Administrator, praising his experience in local government. "I am confident that he will propose common-sense, pragmatic solutions to the agency," Scott remarked.

Senator Scott concluded by expressing optimism about the potential prosperity these nominations could unleash, stating, "By confirming these nominees, we can unleash a Golden Age of Prosperity."
