U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina is now accepting applications for internships in his Washington, D.C., North Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville offices for the summer of 2025. The program provides undergraduate and graduate students with opportunities to gain practical experience in public service, focusing on constituent services and federal policy.
The internship welcomes students from all majors, particularly those studying governmental affairs, public policy, or communications. In Washington, interns will engage in legislative research, attend congressional hearings and briefings, assist with press tasks, and manage correspondence on various issues. These responsibilities aim to provide a deeper understanding of the lawmaking process while enhancing communication and customer service skills.
In South Carolina offices located in North Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville, interns will participate actively in community projects. They will handle state-based issues affecting South Carolinians daily by completing research and supporting office operations.
Internship hours are designed to be flexible around students' course schedules but generally follow an 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday timetable. Students may also receive course credit for their participation in the program.
Interested applicants can apply via Senator Scott’s website at https://www.scott.senate.gov/constituent-services/internships. For further inquiries, they can contact the internship coordinator at internships@scott.senate.gov or (202) 224-6121.
