Eastern Engineered Wood Products, a wholesale distributor of engineered wood products, has announced its decision to establish its first South Carolina operation in Anderson County. The investment amounts to $18.7 million and is expected to create 31 new jobs.

The company, founded in Pennsylvania in 1998, supplies engineered wood products to building materials dealers and lumberyards across the East Coast. It also provides technical support including product placement drawings, product specification assistance, and sales education.

The new distribution center will be located at 110 Milliken Drive in Belton and will serve lumber dealers and component manufacturers in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Operations are anticipated to commence later this year with full project completion expected by early 2026. Interested individuals can apply through the company's careers page.

To assist with site preparation and building construction costs, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $100,000 Set-Aside grant to Anderson County.

"Establishing this new location in Anderson County, South Carolina is an exciting next step in our growth and expansion strategy," said Eastern Engineered Wood Products President Todd Lindsey. "We have long recognized the need for our products and services in the Southeast."

Gov. Henry McMaster commented on the development saying, "When companies like Eastern Engineered Wood Products choose to establish operations in South Carolina, it’s a win for our people."

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III added his congratulations stating that South Carolina's location makes it ideal for distribution companies.

Anderson County Councilman Greg Elgin expressed excitement about the job creation while City of Belton Mayor Eleanor Dorn welcomed Eastern to their community.
