Governor Henry McMaster, serving as the policy chair of the Republican Governors Association, has led a group of 25 Republican governors in a joint statement supporting President Donald Trump's immigration policies. The statement emphasizes their commitment to addressing illegal immigration and deporting individuals deemed threats to national security.

The statement from the governors asserts: "As Republican governors, we stand united in support of President Donald Trump’s unwavering commitment to make America safe again by addressing the illegal immigration crisis and deporting illegal immigrants who pose a threat to our communities and national security."

The governors criticized the previous administration's approach to border security, stating, "When the Biden Administration refused to secure our borders and uphold the rule of law, it was Republican governors who took action." They highlighted their efforts in mobilizing state resources such as law enforcement and National Guard units.

Expressing their readiness to collaborate with Trump's administration, they stated: "We are proud to welcome President Trump back to the White House, a leader who has consistently put America first. His leadership is exactly what our nation needs to restore law and order at the border."

The statement further reinforced their dedication to assisting federal efforts in deporting dangerous individuals: "Republican governors remain fully committed to supporting the Trump Administration’s efforts to deport dangerous criminals, gang members, and terrorists who are in this country illegally."

Signatories of this statement include Governor Kay Ivey (AL), Governor Mike Dunleavy (AK), Governor Sarah Sanders (AR), Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), among others. The joint effort reflects a unified stance among these governors on issues related to immigration and national security.
