Senn Brothers Produce, a family-owned produce distributor based in West Columbia, South Carolina, has announced plans to expand its operations with a new facility in Jasper County. The $2.9 million investment is expected to create 19 new jobs and enhance the company's ability to serve the Hilton Head and Savannah markets.

The new facility will be located in the Cypress Ridge Business Park in Ridgeland and will include cold storage and office space. Operations are anticipated to commence in the third quarter of 2026.

Founded in 1944, Senn Brothers Produce focuses on delivering fresh fruits and vegetables sourced from local farmers. The expansion aims to strengthen agricultural distribution networks within South Carolina.

To support this development, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has awarded a $75,000 Set-Aside grant to assist Jasper County with site preparation and building construction costs.

Gregg Senn, President of Senn Brothers Produce, emphasized the company's commitment to providing locally sourced produce while facilitating market access for area farmers. "With the growth in South Carolina, especially in the Lowcountry, we recognized a need for a locally owned South Carolina produce distributor," he said.

Governor Henry McMaster expressed support for the project: "Agribusiness has long been one of South Carolina’s leading industries, and today’s announcement is further proof that it continues to flourish."

Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III noted that this expansion would create significant opportunities for state residents: "We are delighted Senn Brothers Produce is growing its presence in South Carolina."

Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers praised the company’s role in connecting people with local food through their expansion efforts supported by a Growing Agribusiness Fund grant.

Jasper County Council Chairman Marty Sauls welcomed Senn Brothers Produce's investment: "We welcome Senn Brothers Produce to Jasper County and thank them for their investment."

SouthernCarolina Alliance President and CEO Danny Black highlighted how each job created by Senn Brothers improves life quality for local families: "Senn Brothers Produce is a leader in the distribution of premium fresh produce."
