Yesterday, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina met with Tulsi Gabbard, who has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the next Director of National Intelligence. The meeting took place in Washington.
Senator Graham expressed his satisfaction with the meeting, stating, "I very much enjoyed my meeting with Tulsi Gabbard, who I have known for years. We served together briefly in a Capitol Hill reserve unit, and I believe she is a very bright person."
The discussion between Graham and Gabbard focused on national security concerns. "We talked about the threats America faces and I look forward to continuing to engage with her on how to best defend our country," Graham noted.
Graham also emphasized his approach towards presidential cabinet nominations: "As I have said previously, I have a lot of deference for presidential cabinet nominations because I believe every president deserves their team."
He concluded by expressing anticipation for the upcoming confirmation process: "I look forward to hearing in more detail about Tulsi’s views on the threats America faces through the confirmation process."
