U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina has issued a statement following his meeting with Marco Rubio, who has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as the next Secretary of State. The meeting took place yesterday in Washington.
Graham, who serves as the ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, expressed his support for Rubio's nomination. This subcommittee oversees the budget for the U.S. Department of State.
In his statement, Graham said, "I had a great meeting with Senator Marco Rubio, President Trump’s nominee to be our next Secretary of State. Marco is the best man for the job, and he will work with President Trump to restore order and balance to the world."
Rubio currently serves as a U.S. Senator from Florida and has been nominated to succeed in one of the nation's top diplomatic positions.
