Gov. Henry McMaster announces weekly schedule including bill signings

Gov. Henry McMaster, Lt. Gov. Pamela S. Evette, and First Lady Peggy McMaster have outlined their schedules for the week starting October 21, 2024.

On Tuesday, October 22, at 10:30 AM, Lt. Gov. Evette will be present at the Greenwood, McCormick and Abbeville Team South Carolina County Day held at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, S.C.

Later that day at 2:00 PM, Gov. McMaster is scheduled to conduct a ceremonial bill signing for H. 4002, known as the Captain Robert Johnson Act. This event will take place at the South Carolina Department of Corrections Recruiting Office located on Broad River Road in Columbia. The media is advised to arrive by 1:30 PM for escort into the complex by SCDC staff.

On Wednesday, October 23, at 2:00 PM, another ceremonial bill signing by Gov. McMaster is planned for S. 621—the South Carolina-Ireland Trade Commission bill—at the State House on Gervais Street in Columbia.

Lt. Gov. Evette's engagements continue on Thursday, October 24 with her moderating role during the Circularity Fireside Chat at SustainSC’s Annual Sustainability Symposium taking place at Central Energy on Gregg Street in Columbia at 10:00 AM.

Additionally, she will participate in the Greatest South Carolina Cleanup Kickoff at Eutaw Springs Battleground Park in Eutawville at 1:30 PM.

In retrospect of his previous week's schedule from October 14, Gov. McMaster attended various policy meetings and oversaw a State Fiscal Accountability Authority meeting on Tuesday and had office hours and state agency meetings throughout the week.

On Friday of that week, he attended a dedication event for the state's 2,000th Historical Marker held at Finley High School Campus in Chester.
