Gov. Henry McMaster, Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, and First Lady Peggy McMaster have released their schedules for the week of September 30, 2024.
On Monday, September 30 at 2:30 PM, Gov. McMaster held a media briefing with state emergency management officials to update the public on the state's response to Hurricane Helene at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center in West Columbia.
Due to ongoing recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene, media members will be notified of public events as they are scheduled.
Gov. Henry McMaster’s schedule for the previous week included several engagements:
On Monday, September 23, Gov. McMaster attended the 64th Annual meeting of the Southern States Energy Board in Chattanooga. He spoke at the Governors Energy Caucus at 9:00 AM and participated in a press conference with fellow governors at 10:45 AM. The day also included multiple policy meetings.
On Tuesday, September 24 at 11:00 AM, Gov. McMaster announced an executive order to create WaterSC Working Group in West Columbia and later participated in a press conference with Lt. Gov. Evette and First Lady Peggy McMaster to announce the annual Workforce Champion.
Wednesday's schedule included policy meetings and presenting the Order of the Palmetto to Darci Strickland at noon in Columbia.
Thursday involved attending a groundbreaking event by Google in Ridgeville and holding an executive conference call regarding Hurricane Helene. Later that day, he presented another Order of the Palmetto to Senator Nikki Setzler.
Friday began with a call with Harry Sideris from Duke Energy followed by various meetings related to state emergency management and law enforcement agencies' responses to Hurricane Helene.
Saturday included further meetings concerning hurricane recovery efforts and calls with local sheriffs across several counties.
Sunday featured additional calls with local officials and policy meetings focused on coordinating federal, state, and local responses to Hurricane Helene's impact on South Carolina communities.
