WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham recently criticized Secretary Mayorkas and the Biden Administration for their handling of immigration parole, raising concerns about potential abuses of the system. In a statement, Senator Graham highlighted discrepancies in the administration's use of parole, particularly in the case of Jose Antonio Ibarra, who was granted entry into the United States despite being accused of a serious crime.

During a previous inquiry, Senator Graham questioned Secretary Mayorkas about the criteria for granting immigration parole, emphasizing the need for individualized assessments. Secretary Mayorkas assured that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) complied with the law by conducting case-by-case analyses. However, recent revelations suggest otherwise.

According to Senator Graham, Jose Ibarra was granted parole based on the lack of detention capacity at a processing facility in Texas, a decision that Senator Graham deemed as a violation of the law. Senator Graham criticized Secretary Mayorkas for providing false testimony to Congress and failing to adhere to the statutory requirements for granting parole.

Senator Graham expressed his disappointment in Secretary Mayorkas' handling of the parole system, stating, "The abuse of the parole system is one of the main reasons Secretary Mayorkas was impeached by the House of Representatives. Now we know Secretary Mayorkas gave false testimony to Congress, which only strengthens the case against him."

Senator Graham also underscored the ongoing challenges at the border, emphasizing the need for accountability and effective immigration policies. In his words, "The broken border is not going to go away. We are going to tell the American people until we run out of breath that the system in place is broken, it is leading to the death of innocent Americans like Laken Riley, and the person who created the problem is President Joe Biden."

The accusations against the Biden Administration's use of immigration parole have reignited calls for transparency and oversight in immigration policies. The controversy surrounding Secretary Mayorkas' testimony and the handling of parole cases underscores the need for a thorough review of the immigration system to ensure the safety and well-being of both immigrants and American citizens.
