(COLUMBIA, S.C.) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Justin Scott Kriedeman, 32, of Green Cove Springs, FL, on 10 total charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors. Kriedeman was apprehended by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Charleston Police Department.

According to the authorities, Kriedeman engaged in disturbing behaviors, as stated by investigators: "Kriedeman solicited and traveled to meet a person he believed to be a minor for sex, encouraged them to produce child sexual abuse material*, and sent sexually explicit images to a person he believed to be a minor."

Kriedeman faces a series of serious charges including criminal solicitation of a minor, attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, and dissemination of obscene material to a person under the age of eighteen. Attorney General Wilson emphasized the importance of due process, stating, "all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law."

Furthermore, in an effort to accurately reflect the severity of such crimes, the use of the term "child sexual abuse material" is being advocated for over "child pornography," as explained by global trends: "* Child sexual abuse material, or CSAM, is a more accurate reflection of the material involved in these heinous and abusive crimes."

Justin Scott Kriedeman was arrested on March 19, 2024, and an additional warrant was served to him while in custody on March 20, 2024. The Attorney General's Office will be handling the prosecution of this case.

The case against Kriedeman serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding minors and holding individuals accountable for their actions in cases of sexual exploitation and abuse.
