(COLUMBIA, S.C.) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson made a public statement regarding the recent arrest of Micka White, a 29-year-old resident of Columbia, S.C. White faces serious charges linked to the attempted sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to investigators, White allegedly engaged in solicitation of a minor for sexual activities and sent explicit images to someone he believed to be underage. The arrest was carried out by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Charleston Police Department, with support from the U.S. Marshals Service.

White was taken into custody on February 28, 2024, and now faces three counts of criminal solicitation of a minor and one count of attempted dissemination of obscene material to a person under eighteen. These charges are felony offenses that could lead to a maximum of 10 years imprisonment.

It was revealed that White was already out on bond from a previous arrest in 2023. The case against him will be handled by the Attorney General's Office, as confirmed by Attorney General Wilson. He emphasized the principle of presumed innocence for all defendants until proven guilty in a court of law.

The situation serves as a stark reminder of the vigilance required to protect minors from potential exploitation and highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat such crimes.
