DCC Metal Recycling Expands Operations in South Carolina, Creating 78 New Jobs

DCC Metal Recycling has announced its plans to expand its South Carolina footprint with a new operation in Dillon County, investing $11 million to create 78 new jobs. The company, founded in Hemingway in 1943, specializes in purchasing, shredding, and recycling scrap metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, and copper.

President and CEO of DCC Metal Recycling, Donald R. Brewer Jr., expressed excitement about the new operation, stating, "Our new operation will be providing excellent job opportunities as well as the purchasing of metal recyclables from area scrap dealers and the general public." He also highlighted the strategic location of Dillon County and its alignment with the company's expansion plans.

Gov. Henry McMaster congratulated DCC Metal Recycling on its seventh operation in South Carolina, emphasizing the strength of the recycling industry in the state. Secretary of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III echoed this sentiment, calling the announcement a "tremendous win" for Dillon County and emphasizing the positive impact of the 78 new jobs on the local community.

Dillon County Council Chairwoman Detrice McCollum Dawkins welcomed DCC Metal Recycling to the industrial family of the county, expressing gratitude for the company's recognition of the value of doing business in Dillon County. SC Ports President and CEO Barbara Melvin highlighted the support provided by Inland Port Dillon in connecting companies like DCC Metal Recycling to global markets.

The North Eastern Strategic Alliance Executive Chairman Yancey McGill expressed excitement about the growth of DCC Metal Recycling in the region, noting the company's deep roots in the area.
